Emergency services are standing down after failing to find signs of fire in a building on the Terrace in Wellington's CBD this evening.
Emergency services were on the scene following reports of people smelling smoke on two levels of a building but it appeared the smell had come from anexternal source, a fire spoeswoman said.
Police were on site helping fire with traffic duties.
