Child dies after serious crash in Papatoetoe, police investigating

A young child has died in a serious incident involving a vehicle in South Auckland this afternoon.

Police said they responded to the incident, which involved a vehicle on McDonald Rd, Papatoetoe.

The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation, and police are providing support to the family.

The incident was reported about 4pm.

Police said the Serious Crash Unit are in attendance and are making inquiries.

Hato Hone St John said they were notified at 4.04pm and responded with three rapid response units, an ambulance and a first response unit.
