Eleven sex offenders housed in the Auckland suburb of Otahuhu have been moved by Corrections.
The offenders were housed at two properties on the same street.
Residents have been informed of the development at a meeting in Otahuhu this evening.
Corrections was forced to admit the offenders were housed in the area after being approached by media.
Schools were shocked to know that the offenders were living in close proximity to children.
Mt Richmond School principal Kathy Dooley told Newstalk ZB Corrections didn't contact the school before the offenders were placed in the area.
It is understood at least two offenders triggered GPS alerts this week after being too close to schools.
