Elderly woman airlifted to hospital

A Pongaroa woman in her 80s was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital with injuries she received in a fall.

An elderly woman who slipped and fell at her Pongaroa home early yesterday was rescued by helicopter and flown to Palmerston North Hospital.

The helicopter was summoned about 8.30am and the woman, aged in her 80s, was stabilized by St John paramedics before the flight to hospital.
