Elderly man missing since yesterday afternoon found safe and well

An elderly man missing since yesterday afternoon has been found safe and well this morning.

Allan Freeman, 81, had gone for a walk near his Titirangi home, in West Auckland, about 4.30pm yesterday and had not been seen or heard from since.

Police put out an alert urging locals to keep an eye out for him.

A police spokesman said about 10am today that he had been found safe and well.

"He was located by a member of the public in New Lynn.''
