Save An elderly man who is alleged to have raped and sexually abused two girls in the 1970s is facing 19 sex charges.
The 73-year-old from Whangarei appeared at the North Shore District Court on Friday and was given name suppression.
The abuse is alleged to have taken place over five
years when the girls were younger than 10-years-old.
It is understood that the man was a friend of the girls' family.
He will next appear in court later this month.
