An elderly pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Wellington.

An elderly pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Wellington.

Police say the incident happened just after eight this morning on Broadway in Strathmore.

A man in his 80s died at the scene.

No-one else was injured in the crash.

The Serious Crash Unit has examined the scene and the coroner has been notified.
