An elderly driver was flown to Wellington Hospital for treatment after falling ill while travelling on Cape Palliser Rd yesterday.
Life Flight crewman Logan Taylor said the man had a medical condition and, after feeling unwell, had pulled over to the roadside near the Paeraki Stream several kilometres from Ngawivillage on the South Wairarapa coast.
A passerby had come across the elderly man and called emergency services after driving a distance to where there was cell phone coverage, Mr Taylor said.
