Eketahuna have moved out to a nine-point lead in this season's Wairarapa-Bush senior first division rugby competition.
The defending champions are sitting on 49 points, followed by Carterton 40, Greytown-Tuhirangi 36, Gladstone 34, Marist 31, Martinborough 26, Pioneer 23, East Coast 20, Masterton Red Star 8 and Puketoi
It is tight at
the top of the President's grade competition. Greytown-Tuhirangi are on top with 48pts, just one ahead of Gladstone. Then come Pioneer 40, Eketahuna 35, Martinborough 25, Featherston 23, Masterton Red Star 23, Carterton 20 and East Coast 10.
The draw for inter-club matches this weekend is:-
Senior first: Eketahuna v Puketoi, Eketahuna on Friday night at 7pm (G.Hall); Pioneer v Martinborough, Jean street at 2.30pm (M.Porter; C.Jefferies and R.McKay); Marist v Carterton, Memorial Park at 2.30pm (A.Stringer; B.Whale and D.Hands); East Coast v Masterton Red Star, Whareama at 2.30pm (D.Goodin); Greytown-Tuhirangi v Gladstone, Pirinoa at 2.30pm (G.Reisima; T.Roseingrave and N.Burt).
Presidents grade: Eketahuna v Featherston, Eketahuna at 1pm (G.Moorcock); Pioneer v Martinborough, Jean street at 1pm (R.McKay); East Coast v Masterton Red Star, Whareama at 1pm (D.Taylor); Greytown-Tuhirangi v Gladstone, Pirinoa at 1pm (T.Roseingrave); Carterton a bye.
Under-13: Featherston v Carterton, Featherston at 10.30am; Masterton Intermediate v Gladstone Combined, Masterton Intermediate at 10.30am; Greytown a bye.
Under-12: Masterton Red Star v Pioneer, Rams at 9.30am; Gladstone Combined v Eketahuna, Hadlow at 10.30am; Marist a bye.
Under-11: Pioneer v Carterton, Pioneer at 9.30am; East Coast Combined v Marist, Hadlow at 9.30am; Tuhirangi-Martinborough v Greytown, Tuhirangi at 9.30am.
Under-10: Marist v Featherston, Marist at 9.30am; Carterton v Eketahuna, Carterton at 9.30pm; East Coast Combined v Rams, Whareama at 9.30am; Greytown B v Greytown A, Greytown at 9.30am.
Under-9: Tuhirangi v East Coast, Tuhirangi at 9.30am; Carterton v Gladstone, Carterton at 9.30am; Pioneer v Marist, Pioneer at 9.30am; Rams v Martinborough, Rams at 30am.
Under-8.-To play at Martinborough at 9.30am: Rams, Greytown Yellow, Greytown Red, East Coast, Martinborough. To play at Carterton at 9.30am: Carterton, Gladstone, Tuhirangi, Featherston, Marist Green, Marist White.
