Save Another earthquake has rattled East Cape this morning.
The magnitude 2.6 quake shook 5 kilometres south of Ruatoria at a depth of only 5km.
It follows three earthquakes in the same area in quick succession on Tuesday, the largest reaching an intensity of 4.6 magnitude.
GeoNet recorded a 4.2 magnitude
earthquake at 11.05am, a 4.6 magnitude at 12.25pm, and a 3.1 magnitude at 12.47pm on Tuesday.
The quakes were all centred about south-east of Ruatoria at depths between 11km and 5km
