Residents in Turangi reported to GNS Science that they felt an earthquake which struck at 7.25pm last night.
The 2.1 magnitude quake was centred within 5km of the central North Island town at a depth of 8km.
Just after midnight a 2.9 aftershock was felt in Christchurch. The
