After the article went to print, on Saturday, she received a phone call from the groom, who lived in Greytown.
She said she didn't catch his name, but he had invited her round to meet him and his wife, which she politely declined.
"He was on holiday in Hawke's Bay. One of his relatives who lives in Auckland rang him and said 'your photos are in the paper'. He was a really nice man and it was nice to get a resolution."
Mrs Cockeram learned the couple had scans of the original photos done for their 50th wedding anniversary last year.
"They must have had issues with the DVD, so they took it back to Dick Smith ... and they [Dick Smith] must have got mixed up. So it must have been old stock they put out and put a security tag on it, " she said.
Mrs Cockeram destroyed the photos after the man said they had numerous copies.
The DVDs were packaged in a cardboard slip. They cost $7.50, with nothing to indicate they were used goods.
