Dunedin highway closed after truck jack-knife

A truck has jack-knifed near Dunedin this morning closing city-bound lanes on State Highway 1.

The incident occurred on Caversham Bypass Motorway and has caused delays for commuters, police said.

A build up of traffic is backing on to the Burnside on-ramp and detours are in place at the Caversham Valley Rd and Barnes Drive intersection and the Andersons Bay Rd intersection.

Police expect the motorway lanes to be closed for at least one hour to remove the truck.
