A suspected drunk-driver led police on a 40-minute chase south of Auckland - at half the speed limit.
The pursuit began on Porchester Rd, Papakura, shortly before 6pm yesterday when officers spotted a car driving "erratically".
         Police followed but the car refused to pull over, despite driving at 50km/h in
         a 100km/h zone.
        
A second patrol car joined the chase but the driver still refused to pull over.
The chase lasted 38 minutes before the vehicle ran over police spikes in Pukekohe.
