October will see two well-known motorsport events combining to form what has been dubbed the Daybreaker Rally Wairarapa.
Starting in the Manawatu village of Pohangina, the competitors will traverse four special stages before heading to northern Wairarapa and undertaking a further four stages between Eketahuna and Masterton.
This event isthe final round of the 2015 Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship.
Clerk of the course Dave Davies said the technical nature of the Daybreaker Rally stages, including the iconic Ridge Rd, will be contrasted with the open nature of the Rally Wairarapa stages. "It's creating a new challenge for drivers, but one that everyone can have a go at."
"And fun for a rally competitor is testing themselves, their team work, and their machinery. It's the thrill of going as fast as you can to master the challenges the road throws at you.
"It can be technically challenging in the tight and twisty parts, through to the high speeds of the more open and flowing roads. Each has its own rewards, and in this event there is a healthy mix of both."
