Driver trapped as tanker crashes into pole

State Highway 63 in Marlborough are now open after a milk tanker crash this morning.

The driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Nelson Hospital.

Emergency services cut him from the wrecked truck.

The tanker crashed into a power pole near Parsons Rd in the Wairau Valley about 8am.

The tanker and trailer are still at the scene, but out of the way and will be taken away this afternoon.
