Driver trapped after accident with fuel tanker

Save A seriously injured driver was trapped in his vehicle after it and an empty fuel tanker collided in Invercargill today.
The crash happened on the corner of Rockdale and Tramway roads about 5am, southern fire communications shift manager Andrew Norris said.
"It took crews about 40 minutes to extricate [the
driver], he said.
The man was taken to Invercargill Hospital in a serious condition.
The truck driver escaped injury, Mr Norris said.
