A man is still in critical condition after driving into a power pole in North Canterbury last night.
He smashed into a power pole on South Eyre Rd, in Oxford about 10pm and became trapped.
A Fire Service spokesman said they had to free the man from his car.

John Ambulance rushed the man to Christchurch Hospital for treatment.
A Canterbury District Health Board spokeswoman said the man remained in critical condition this morning.
