Driver seriously injured in Otaua crash

A driver has been seriously injured and a road has been closed following a single vehicle crash at Otaua today.

The incident happened on Whiriwhiri Rd about 3.45pm, Inspector Steve Kose of northern police communications said.

The driver was taken to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition after crashing when they drove off the road.

As a result of the crash, Whiriwhiri Rd will be completely closed between Robertson Rd and Holmes Rd and diversions had been put in place.
