Driver rushed to hospital after being freed from car

A person has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after being trapped in their car in central Auckland.

Firefighters freed the driver, who was found on Great North Road at Waterview, around 4am today.

It's not yet clear how the person came to be trapped, or whether any other car was involved in the incident.
