Save A man who was seriously injured when his car hit a roadworks truck near a motorway off-ramp in Auckland on last night was speeding, say police.
The man suffered critical but not life-threatening injuries when his car hit the truck about 9.15pm near the Wellesley St and Port off-ramps.
Police
spokeswoman Noreen Hegarty said the Port exit was partly cordoned off for roadworks.
The man was driving faster than the restricted limit in the area, she said.
His car hit a truck with flashing lights and it took an hour to cut him from the car before he could be taken to Auckland City Hospital.
