One person has died after a single-vehicle crash in Kaitāia overnight.

One person has died after a single-vehicle crash in Kaitāia overnight.

Emergency services were called after a vehicle hit a tree near the intersection of North Rd and Farrimond Place at around 10.30pm.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and died at the scene.

Police said they are providing support to the family.

Inquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
