Double-decker bus damages power pole in Mt Eden

A double-decker bus has extensive damage after a crash in Auckland's Mt Eden Rd.

A witness said the bus hit a power pole. Photos show the bus has a shattered windscreen.

"The power pole has been totally destroyed and is just dangling there, held up by the other power poles," another witness said.

"Some lines are hanging on the ground."

A police spokesman said police and other emergency services were called to the crash at the intersection of Mt Eden Rd and Watling St about 11.50am.

No injuries have been reported.

A power pole has been badly damaged and concrete debris litters the footpath.

A section of both roads are closed as contractors deal with the lines down and diversions are in place.

The area had only just got power back after the storm, but now it was out again, a witness said.
