Dominion Rd bridge opens

A $1.3 million bridge which aims to ease congestion on Dominion Rd opened yesterday. The bridge, expected to carry up to 13,000 vehicles once completed, will provide extra capacity for drivers travelling direct to the city from Hillsborough and Lynfield.

Supported by a 31m-long pier, the bridge is 40m long and made up of 26 deck beams. It is the fourth of six bridge crossings to be built as part of the $186 million State Highway 20 Mt Roskill Extension project, which will form a link to the Western Ring Route.
