A dog has been rescued by firefighters after falling down a cliff in the seaside suburb of St Heliers in Auckland.
The rescue took pace at Glover Park, which has a steep cliff down to Gentlemens Bay.
Mt Wellington fire service senior station officer John Roberts said the dog ran
off the edge of the cliff and fell down a 5m sheer drop. It attempted to make its way back to the top but became stuck.
Firefighters abseiled down to reach the 30kg labrador. They put it in a harness and helped it walk back up the cliff.
The dog was not injured.
