Dog rescued after days on cliff face

Beau the dog was heard barking by neighbours for days until the Fire Service arrived at the property on Esk Valley Road this afternoon.

A black lab who'd been stuck on a cliff face for four days in South Canterbury has been reunited with his owner.

Timaru senior station officer Kevin Donaldson says senior firefighter Rob Schiphorst was lowered down to the bluff to where the dog was.

Kevin Donaldson says Beau was very happy to see his owner, who was waiting for him at the top of the cliff.
