Dog attack puts girl, 4, in hospital

A dog attacked a 4-year-old girl yesterday evening.

The attack left the Auckland girl with injuries to her nose and mouth.

Ambulances were called to a Panmure address at about 5:15pm.

St John Northern duty centre manager Norm Ngatai said the incident happened on Coral Crescent, Panmure.

Police contacted animal control officers, who took the dog away.

The girl was taken to Starship Hospital with moderate injuries.
