The attempted Christmas Day terrorism attack on a plane flying from Amsterdam to Detroit has once again prompted the United States to increase security measures on all its in- and out-bound flights.

Travellers heading to the USA from Auckland Airport now face a rigorous second set of security checks including luggage searches, the use of sniffer dogs and possibly body searches.

But are all the security measures enough to give passengers peace of mind? Do you feel safe flying internationally?
