A Carterton history group is paying tribute to the men who fought at Chunuk Bair with an informative exhibition.
The World War I Chunuk Bair exhibition opened last Saturday at the Carterton Events Centre.
Organiser Angela Reynolds said the group wanted to show the impact of the loss of somany men on the district, as well as the stories of the individuals who took part.
"We've done quite a lot of work and we've trucked through all the Carterton men who actually took part in the Gallipoli campaign, including the ones who were killed."
"Every one of them had a life and every one of them had a family."
