Deluge causes flooding in New Plymouth CBD

A deluge in New Plymouth has resulted in flooding in the CBD.

Philip Duncan of WeatherWatch.co.nz says there have been some heavy downpours today associated with a low in the Tasman Sea.

He says some inner city streams have flooded.

"Some areas now that are underwater, that are right in the city centre itself don't look serious but it's certainly enough to pose a bit of a risk to the public," he told Newstalk ZB.
