Six Year 12 students and one from Year 13 will today find out their futures at one of the country's most expensive schools, after allegations of "hazing" of younger boys.
Parents have laid complaints with King's College in Otahuhu over an initiation-style incident last Thursday in which Year 9 studentswere allegedly marched like "prisoners of war" out of their beds about 3am, with pillow cases over their heads and their hands behind their backs.
One of the younger boys claimed he was hit across the back and legs by one of the older students.
Yesterday, King's College deputy headmaster John Payne said the seven senior boys - who were to have been seen yesterday - would be interviewed today by the school's disciplinary committee.
"Meetings will be held throughout the day, and outcomes will be determined only after each of the students and their families have met the committee."
The boys would be seen separately from 8am, with their families present. Once the boys had learned the decisions, the school would reveal details of the meetings.
The father of one of the "petrified" Year 9 students said he believed the boy's mother planned to lay a complaint with police.
But yesterday, a spokeswoman said police had not received any complaints from anyone in relation to the incident.
Annual fees at the Otahuhu boys' school range from $23,000 to $37,000.
The Ministry of Education's head of sector enablement and support, Katrina Casey, said King's had turned down an offer of support.
"The level of support we offer differs in every situation but in most cases it includes helping school leaders provide the required support to students and parent community and returning the school to normal routines as soon as possible.
"The school has advised us that it does not require our assistance."
