A cyclist has been injured in a hit-and-run near one of Auckland's newest cycleways.
Police were called to the intersection of Wellesley and Nelson streets at 5.45am today.
The cyclist was sitting up when police arrived but was taken to hospital.
The driver continued driving after the crash, but police
had the vehicle's details and were tracking the driver, a police spokeswoman said.
Stage 1 of the Nelson St cycleway was opened last December.
