A cyclist has been flown to a Canterbury hospital after they crashed their bike on a steep Banks Peninsula road.
A police spokeswoman said police were called to the bicycle incident at 7.25pm on Purau Port Levy Road this evening.
"It looks like a cyclist has fallen off their bike
and they've been transported to hospital via helicopter."
The spokeswoman believed no cars were involved.
"It looks like just a bicycle accident."
