A man has been charged after a Christchurch pedestrian was hit by a cyclist as he stepped out of his doorway.
Police said a cyclist travelling on the footpath near the intersection of St Asaph and Manchester Streets collided with a pedestrian who stepped out of a doorway about
6.45pm on February 16.
The pedestrian, a 54-year-old man, was taken to Christchurch Hospital with a fractured hip.
He underwent surgery to join the bones in his hip back together, and spent three nights in hospital.
Police have since charged a man in relation to the incident.
