Christchurch police wrangled an interesting suspect into the back of a car last night.
After reports of a "cattlebeast" wandering the streets of Phillipstown, the police hoofed it to the area to apprehend a friendly bobby calf.
The curious calf was taken back to the cells for the night, according
to the Canterbury Police Facebook page, which also said "feeding him proved tricky, with not a lot of grass to be had at the station and the calf having an apparent aversion to trim milk.
The post has gone viral, with over 1400 likes and 263 shares.
