Critical injuries after single vehicle crash near Whakatāne

One person is in a critical condition after a single-vehicle crash in Whakatāne.

Emergency services were called to the accident, which closed Tāneatua Rd near White Pine Bush Rd, about 2.20pm.

A police spokesperson said one person had critical injuries.

“The road is closed and diversions are in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and expect delays.”

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said one person in a critical condition was taken to Whakatane Hospital.
