Sam David Anderson was sentenced to 80 hours of community work and 6 months' supervision by Judge Dugald Matheson in Whanganui District Court on Tuesday.
Anderson pleaded guilty to a charge of driving with excess blood alcohol. He is disqualified from driving for 28 days following which hewill only be able to drive a vehicle fitted with an alcohol interlock device.
Bake off is really off
The 'Bake Off' event scheduled for August 25 as part of Whanganui and Partners 'Biz Buzz Month' has been cancelled.
It was intended to close the bottom block of Victoria Avenue and set up an outdoor café and entertainment, with local eateries invited to bring their signature dish for judging. Whanganui and Partners business strategic lead Rhonda Morris said the event had been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
Man admits assault
A man has pleaded guilty to charges of common assault and resisting police in Whanganui District Court. Elte Gareth Brown will be sentenced in the court on November 7.
Ian James Hunt pleaded guilty to seven charges in the Whanganui District Court on Tuesday. They were four charges of breaching extended supervision and three charges of failing to comply with reporting obligations.
Hunt will return to the court on November 7 for sentencing.
