Nelson hit-and-run: Pedestrian seriously injured, police seek distinctive ute

A person has been seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash in Nelson.

Emergency services were called after a vehicle hit a pedestrian at the intersection of Tasman St and Weka St about 4pm yesterday.

One person was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police said a grey double-cab ute with a snorkel fled the scene.

The Serious Crash Unit has conducted a scene examination.
