Save An argument over alleged damage to a car led to one man punching another several times in the face.
Terrance Toko-Warren had been drinking on May 11 when he got into the argument with his victim.
He accused the victim of breaking part of a friend's vehicle, police prosecutor Sergeant
Drew Morrison said on Tuesday in the Whanganui District Court.
Toko-Warren started punching the victim in the head, knocking him to the ground.
He earlier appeared in court and was offered a diversion for the charge of common assault, which he pleaded guilty to.
