Armed police remained on guard overnight at a Whanganui home where a man's body was found on Sunday.
Family and friends, huddled under duvets and dressing gowns, milled about outside the Wikitoria Rd address.
Officers were called to th address just before 7pm Sunday.
They found a man dead at the property.
The Criminal Investigation Branch was called in to conduct the inquiry. Ambulance staff were also at the scene.
