Court documents state the defendant is currently accused of having sexually violated a woman in Onehunga in June 1988. The charge came about after the woman went to police, which prompted authorities to test material from a medical exam from the era.
If convicted of the charge, he could face a sentence of up to 20 years’ imprisonment.
