Two people have been taken into custody after schools were put into lockdown in Helensville.
A police spokesperson said they were called to an address on Koraha Rd, Kumeū, about 1.45pm after reports of a man pointing a gun at the occupants.
The man had fled upon police arrival, butfurther inquiries were made and a location of interest was identified on Garfield Rd, Helensville.
The spokesperson said the Eagle helicopter was deployed overhead and monitored the situation. Two people from the Helensville address were taken into custody and a firearm was recovered.
