A man armed with a firearm demanded cash and cigarettes from workers at a Northland service station on Saturday night, police say.
A lone man entered the GAS Service Station on State Highway 1in Ruakaka, south of Whangārei, about 7.25pm.
He demanded cash and cigarettes from the attendants. The male was heavily disguised and carried a black backpack.
The male was seen to running to a vehicle parked at the service station and then drove off towards Whangārei.
Whangārei police wanted to hear from anyone with information relating to the incident.
"The male was seen to run to a vehicle that was parked at the northern end of the service station and drive off towards Whangārei."
