Alleged fraudster denies taking thousands

Save A Napier man accused of defrauding elderly women for thousands of dollars has denied the charges.
William Edward Harding has pleaded not guilty in the Whanganui District Court to causing loss by deception and two counts of obtaining by deception.
The charges relate to sums of $5000, $6000, and $4800.
Harding, 76, has elected a judge alone trial through defence lawyer Stephen Ross.
His alleged offending ranges from June 2015 to February 2016.
