Pakistan reached 160 for five in their first innings at tea on the third day of the first cricket test against New Zealand, a deficit of 269.

Resuming on 54 for two after lunch Pakistan suffered a trio of setbacks before debutant Umar Akmal posted a rapid unbeaten 55 from 68 deliveries as he and brother Kamran Akmal (27), added 75 for the sixth wicket.

Fast bowler Shane Bond, playing his first test in two years, took the three wickets to fall in 10 balls to have figures of three for 38 from 13 overs. Follow the action live.
