Crews douse blaze at Wellington lodge and conference centre

A fire at a lodge and conference centre north of Wellington has now been put out.

Crews were called to the blaze at The Lodge at the Inlet in Pauatahanui just after 6am.

A Fire and Emergency spokesperson was unable to confirm the scale of the fire but said salvage and clean up had begun.

Paekakariki Hill Rd was closed briefly this morning due to the fire.
