Crash kills cyclist on West Coast

The Serious Crash Unit is on its way to fatal accident involving a male cyclist near Aratuna this morning.

A cyclist has died following an accident on State Highway 6 near Aratuna early this morning.

The man was involved in a crash 500m south of Mile Line Rd at 6.45am, police said.

He is yet to be identified.

Diversions were in place at Blue Spur Rd and Arahura Valley Rd for traffic travelling north or south on SH6

The Serious Crash Unit will be attending and the road will be closed until the investigation is complete, police said.
