Crash closes Mt Victoria tunnel in central Wellington

A crash has closed the Mt Victoria tunnel in central Wellington and motorists have been warned to expect delays.

The NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi said people should take alternative routes and avoid the area.

An RNZ reporter near the scene said police were in attendance.

Ambulances were also there and traffic was backed up.
