Crash causes delays for Auckland's Southern Motorway

The crash on Auckland's southern motorway has now been cleared off the road but commuters are being warned it could be a slow trip to work.

The New Zealand Transport Authority said traffic was heavy in both directions and to expect delays heading north and south in the Manukau area.

A Fire Service spokesman said a car had rolled across the motorway, injuring one person.

A person was injured and being treated by ambulance staff at the scene.

Rubberneckers also contributed to delays.

A recent vehicle breakdown heading into the city on the motorway at Greenlane had left an heavy patch of traffic between Mt Wellington and Greenlane.

The vehicle had been moved off the road but the impact of the temporary lane blockage was proving a headache for motorists who were being warned to allow extra time for travel this morning.
