One person is in a serious condition after a crash that blocked State Highway 2 near Bayview.
A police spokesman said police received reports of an incident involving two vehicles on Main North Rd, State Highway 2, near Bayview about 1pm.
Waka Kotahi confirmed the road north of Napier’s CBDhad reopened at 2.50pm after both lanes were blocked and detours were in place.
Drivers were advised to delay their journey or consider an alternate route, while detours were in place through State Highway 1, Petane Rd and Hill Rd while the road was blocked.
A St John spokesperson said one person was transported to Hawke’s Bay Hospital in a serious condition.
